Kevin Race
Chief of Financial Strategy
Wells Real Estate Funds, Inc.
Kevin Race joined Wells Real Estate Funds in November 2007 as Chief of Financial Strategy. He serves on Wells' Executive Committee.
Mr. Race has more than two decades of finance and banking experience. Prior to joining Wells, he served as President, and then Chief Executive Officer, of HomeBanc Corp. He was instrumental in its reorganization and 2004 initial public offering. He also oversaw a servicing and investment portfolio in excess of $7 billion.
Mr. Race was previously President and Chief Operating Officer of HomeSide Lending, Inc., and President and Chief Financial Officer of Fleet Mortgage Group. He also held positions at Fleet Financial Group based in Providence, Rhode Island, and the Investment Bank of Citicorp in New York.
Mr. Race lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife and three children. He is an active member of the Buckhead Church in Atlanta, and also enjoys golf and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Race serves on the Board of Directors for the Metro Atlanta YMCA.
Mr. Race holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from Trinity University.
