Wells Dow Jones Wilshire Global RESI Index Fund

Wells Real Estate Funds

Over the last five years, certain global real estate indexes have not only outperformed some U.S.-based real estate indexes, but have done so with lower overall volatility.1

Around the globe, foreign countries are adopting an ownership structure very similar to publicly traded REITs in the United States. How can an investor take advantage of these expanded opportunities for growth?

Introduced in 2006, the Wells Dow Jones Wilshire Global RESI Index Fund offers the diversification of a global real estate portfolio with the liquidity2 of publicly traded real estate stocks. Mirroring the holdings of an index that is backed by the strength of a worldwide index leader, Dow Jones Wilshire, this new mutual fund mirrors the holdings of the Dow Jones Wilshire Global Real Estate Securities IndexSM (RESI). This Fund is carefully designed and monitored to reflect the values of institutional-like direct ownership of commercial real estate around the world.

International investing entails additional risks such as: currency exchange rates, foreign legislative changes, and geopolitical fluctuations. The Fund's foreign securities may be subject to foreign taxation. Currency Rate Risk includes changes in the value of American currency if underlying securities or properties are purchased in other currencies and the outcome can impact investor performance. Increases in interest rates typically lower the current value of the REIT's income stream. Changes affecting the global real estate economy will usually have a greater impact on performance, as the Fund's holdings are only in the real estate sector.

REITs have various risks including potential for vacancies, devaluation of the properties, competition for investment properties, and dependence on real estate management talent.
